14 Feb Shave – Happy Hallmark Holiday!
Tuesday morning, yay. I felt like having a single edge shave. Sorry I forgot to upload this last night. Come join our nutty bunch on Facebook, search for The BiG Shave. Steve Faragher (sfaragher) runs it and does a fine job. As always, I’ll answer questions and comments, but really it’s hard to topple mantic59′s videos and quite frankly, he’s a far better Shave Tutor (see what I did there?) than I am. badgerandblade.com is also a great resource for shavers. 21 Jan Shave – Lefty
Let’s try this shave partially left handed. I also try the handle from my R89 on my L6. It’s really quite good that way. Also, I’d like to request some feedback on razor storage. Review of the Van Der Hagen Boar hair shaving brush
Van Der Hagen shaving brush on Amazon amzn.to This is a low-end boar hair shaving brush. Yes, it will enable you make lather from a shaving cream such as Proraso, or from a cake of shaving soap. Boar hair is more coarse than the generally more expensive Badger hair brushes. Badger hair brushes start in price around and the sky is the limit. If you are new to traditional shaving, you may be tempted to guy the cheapest equipment you can find but in the long run you will get much more shaving satisfaction from a decent, but inexpensive Badger hair brush than from the inexpensive Boar hair Van Der Hagen brush in this review.
How To Make Traditional Shaving Lather; Part II: Shaving Soap
Decided to make a video for a contest on Badger and Blade (the wet shaving mega site). Here I demonstrate how I make a shaving lather using a brush, and traditional style shaving soap. Feel free to offer tips, and advice on how I can improve my technique. ~John~
